Subfloor and moisture assessment. Engineered hardwood is moisture-tolerant but not moisture-immune. We test the subfloor before installation — concrete slabs get a moisture vapor emissions test, wood subfloors get a pin-type moisture reading. If the numbers are too high, we address the source rather than installing over the problem.
